The Barcelona at Beaverton is a newly constructed, 47-unit, four-story affordable housing apartment building in downtown (Old Town) Beaverton, Washington County.
The Barcelona at Beaverton provides active community space – including a ground-floor entry plaza – and resident areas such as a community room, an outdoor patio and solarium on the top floor for gathering space. The unit mix includes three studios, three 2-bedroom apartments, and 41 one-bedroom apartments, and will serve primarily seniors, people with disabilities (eight of the units are fully accessible), and those with modest incomes.
The Barcelona project is designed and constructed to Green Communities standards. Public art, raised planters, a living wall, and a transit shelter topped with a green roof (coming soon) are some amenities the community at large can enjoy.
Two new buildings on the SW Lombard block between 1st and 2nd (The Barcelona at Beaverton providing affordable housing, and RKM Development’s La Scala project next door providing mixed-use, market-rate housing and commercial/retail space), will bring urban scale and a lively pedestrian experience to the area, and are set to catalyze high-density, new development in the bustling regional center of Old Town Beaverton.
